Sanchin Kempo Karate Kai

Sanchin Kempo Karate Kai

Sanchin Kempo Karate Kai (3 Battles of the Human Condition Way of the Fist & Empty Hand Association) is a non-profit organisation and is situated in West Auckland. Sanchin is an amalgamation of Fudoshin Ryu Bujutsu/Fudoshin Martial arts and Sanchin Ryu Bujutsu.

It is here we teach Kempo Karate, Self Defence, Grappling (Jounai Jitsu), Joint locks & throws (Ai Joumae Jitsu) and Weaponry (Kobudo). The system we practise has been developed from experience in various styles of the Martial Arts with our main aim being to have an effective and dynamic style of Kempo Karate that can better deal with the reality of self-defence today in both unarmed and armed situations, as well as against multiple opponents. We also believe it is important to teach our philosophy on Budo (Martial Way) and the history and Dojo (School practice) traditions behind Kempo Karate.

We are located in a community room that has been made available for our use, and we supply pads, gear and access to other resources if students require them. We have evening and weekend classes available for all age groups. Our classes are aimed to teach martial arts, but also be interesting and fun. We even offer family rates and student rates for tertiary students.

If you are interested in joining please feel free to contact Izzy, either on our website https://kemponz.weebly.com/ or email at [email protected].

Kempo Karate – Way of the Fist and Empty Hand

Sanchin’s  Kempo that is taught  has like any other martial art evolved from an earlier style, in this case from Kempo & Karate. We offer a traditional aspect to our training, but also believe it is indeed vital to any martial art to grow and develop to better suit the times and environment in which it is being taught, without losing the of the original style.

At Sanchin Kempo Karate we use what works well and effectively from other arts and styles, which has been added to our Kempo Karate syllabus to create a well-rounded set of skills and knowledge. It also means that we are not bound by the rules or politics of any one style.  So we have incorporated refined and developed aspects from other fighting arts while still retaining the principles and traditions of Kempo Karate.

This has meant that Sanchin teaches Kempo Karate, Grappling (Jounai Jitsu), Joint locks & throws (Ai Joumae Jitsu) and Weaponry (Kobudo).
