Australasian Martial Arts Hall of Fame 2008

Time is rapidly drawing near to our Twelfth AMAHOF Awards to be held in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th October, 2008. Three members of the PEC are currently in Surfers Paradise (for separate business) and have met up with the Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise and checked the facility and arrangements for our events.

It came apparent we have had a very widespread interest in the Expo to be held on Saturday 4th October and have had to change the venue to accommodate all interested parties. The Expo will now be held at the Nerang PCYC commencing at 080 sharp – refer to the attached brochures for full details. The full itinerary for the EXPO will be released at the presentation briefing at 1800 on Friday 3rd October in the Paradise Room, 2nd Floor, Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise Hotel, 22 View Avenue, Surfers Paradise.

All inductees and members and families should attend this welcome to the Inductees where the President, Executive and Directors will meet to explain the procedure for the Expo and Awards. AT 1900 the Directors AGM will commence in the Paradise Room followed immediately by the Sokeship Council AGM. These AGM's are for the appointed personal only to participate while the remainder of members and Inductees etc can continue with their networking in the outside bar facilities adjacent on the 2nd Floor.

The AMAHOF Expo will commence at 0800 (doors opening at 0730) at the Nerang PCYC, Cayuga Street, Nerang, Gold Coast. This venue is approximately 15 kms west of the Holliday Inn and a well known location. Members will need to provide their own transport to the location to arrive BEFORE 0800. The AMAHOF section of the Expo will conclude by 1130 and is free entry and participation.

At 1130 the Kenshusei Impact Seminars have teamed up with AMAHOF to run their event with Bill (Superfoot) Wallace (USA) and Richard Norton (USA/Australia) – see attachments and application forms. Early bookings are essential to attend this section of the Expo and entry fees to be sent direct to Kenshusei. This Expo seminar will conclude at 1700.

At 1830 pre-event drinks will be held in the Palm pre-function room located on the 4th Floor of the Holiday Inn Hotel. At this time the Inductees are required to have their photographs taken for AMAHOF records (formal dress to be worn). Full details will be explained at the Friday evening briefing.

At 1900 the Awards dinner and special presentations will commence and complete by midnight. Bill Wallace and Richard Norton will be the AMAHOF VIP's at this event and assist with the presentations. We have attached the Booking Form FM05 for anybody that has not yet booked. This must be sent directly to the AMAHOF Treasurer with full payment as per instructions on the form.

Seating arrangement are 12 per table and if you wish to be located with any specific guests indicate this at the time of booking. NO Guarantees are given due to the current overwhelming ticket sales and the need to fill ALL tables completely to fit in the maximum guests. The closing date is 25th September 2008 – NO extensions or refunds after this date. (At the present progress of sales we may be sold out before this date).
