Berardi shares some data from of a study he recently worked on at the University of Texas. The study was of nearly 100 initially sedentary participants who either stayed sedentary or began exercising. They exercisers were given a program to follow that added up to about 5 1/2 to 6 hours of activity per week and that lasted for a total of 12 weeks. The non-exercisers did nothing for the 12 weeks except show up for measurement sessions.
