Huge night at Waitakere Stadium for the big fight. 5,000 seated and another 500 unable to get in the doors. This was a huge event for Auckland, and boxing is on a high at the moment with David Tua getting back into top form.
The Nigerian born Friday Ahunanya proved just as tough as his reputation and at no time did he look like hitting the deck. Big strong boy who has never been on the canvas.
The twelve rounds would have been good for David to get some ring time, and he kept well ahead on points and was never in danger. Looking good for the future of New Zealand boxing, and some good fights looming in the future.
