The 75th Anniversary of Olympic-style Wrestling in New Zealand is to be hosted by the Counties-Hunua Wrestling Club in August 2005.
Counties-Hunua is the club that has the largest number of female wrestlers out of all clubs in New Zealand a very successful club too with six New Zealand title holders amongst them. In the days when I wrestled, we would be lucky to have two females at the Nationals and they trained with the boys and the men. Last year seventeen females competed at the Nationals and four weight categories for females made it to the Olympics for the first time. The results from last years Nationals in Dunedin were:
