We Lose Mike Lozansky

I was saddened to hear of Mike Lozansky’s passing as I kept in touch with him for a time, and he was only 35 years of age.

Mike came to New Zealand for Steve Rickard in 1990 and was on Steve’s TV3 program “Main Event”.

The Canadian wrestler, also known as Mike Anthony and Tigre Canadiense was found dead in his sleep on 18th December in Vancouver B.C. Canada. Mike was 35 years old and doctors have said fluid in lungs or heart condition was probable cause of death. Mike was a regular visitor to Japan and Chris Jericho helped him get into Mexico, where he wore a mask.

In Mexico he was known as Tigre Canadiense, and he lost his mask in a major feud with Vilano IV.

He may be best remembered for his stint with ECW in late 1998 where he had matches with TV star Rob Van Dam.

When I told Steve Rickard of Mike’s passing he said he was a very pleasant youngster and good to deal with.
