World Title shot in Auckland

A World Title was on the line in Auckland this week when Champion Joel Casey from Australia defended his WBF World Crown and his WBO interim Asia-Pacific Crown.
The Aussie came to fight and proved a tough ,fit, champion, and genuine nice guy as well.  Soulan Pownceby, who is ranked 10th in latest WBO rankings, was in superb form and won well over 12 rounds.
Moyoyo Mensah, the popular fighter from Ghana who is well known in Auckland, won a cracking bout over tough Oscar Siale. This was a great contest over 12 rounds and Moyoyo won the interim Asia Pacific Cruiserweight Title.   A world title shot for Moyoyo would be a big draw for Auckland in the future.
