Female Fight Night

Once again the Avondale Performing Arts Centre in Auckland is the venue for a female combat tournament. Women Sportsfighters Gym in conjunction with Flat Rock Productions is hosting Female Fight Night at the center on June 10th. Doors open at seven o’ clock and the first Fighters enter the ring and lock horns around seven- thirty. On the card are 10 fights, 9 of them single competition and one a tag event. The bouts are fiercely fought over two, Three-minute rounds. If no score there will be a third round and the winner decided by three judges. The fights are all submission (style) grappling bouts of Sportfighting, a blend of Judo, jujitsu, Aikido and submission style wrestling. All locks, levers, chokes, throws and certain strikes are permitted. The fights are fast paced and aggressively contested till one woman achieves a result. All the Reality Fighters on the bill train 3 times or more a week honing their skills to a sharp edge.

Different weight groups battle each other to force their opponents to concede by pushing the limit of endurance. The women come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and fighting styles but all possess a burning desire to win. It’s fast, furious, extremely competitive and exciting to watch. Some of the fighters have been featured on various Television programmes and in sport magazines, plus many make their public fighting debut on this night.

These fights are for real and some of the combatants have scores to settle, many have never fought each other before so the outcome will be unpredictable. These gladiatrixes have been on the media and now is your chance to see what all the buzz is about.
