England Loses Mr T.V. Jackie Pallo

Jackie PalloEngland has lost its colourful character Jackie Pallo. Huge star of the 50's, and 60's, the flamboyant character known as Mr T.V. has passed away from cancer at age of 80.

He was immensely popular, not the best wrestler in the world by any stretch, but probably made more money than most because of his huge drawing power. The public loved his cheeky antics, upsetting the referee's, rubbing a foreign object in his opponents eyes, and halls up and down England, Scotland and Wales, always filled to the rafters when Mr. T. V was on the bill.

He was treated like a film star wherever he went and his on-going matches with arch villain Mick McManus went on for years and years. He was a TX superstar, and in demand all over Europe.

Fans always turned up hoping to see Jackie get his just desserts, but usually he came out on the winning side.

He will certainly be missed in wrestling circles around the world.

It was well known in Britain that Her Majesty the Queen and ' Prince Philip were big wrestling fans at the height of the sports popularity in the 1960's. Fans tuned in at 4 p.m. every Saturday afternoon and I was told the Queen always cheered for Jackie Pallo in his matches against Mick McManus.
